OHIO LEGISLATURE MUST DEMAND THAT DEWINE FIRE
ACTON IMMEDIATELY AFTER ID CARD STATEMENT
Akron, OH: Today, Tom Zawistowski, President of the TEA Party affiliated We the People Convention and Executive Director of the Portage County TEA Party, called upon the Ohio Legislature to demand that Governor Mike DeWine immediately fire Ohio Health Director Dr. Amy Acton after her statement yesterday that it would be a "dream" to force Ohio citizens to carry immunity certificates in order to go back to work and/or resume a normal life, and her continued indefensible public statements that the coronavirus is a "very deadly" disease when the latest data proves that it is not.
The We the People Convention is further basing its demand that the Legislature force the Governor to fire Dr. Acton due to her complete and utter failure to provide accurate medical information and guidance to the Governor and the Citizens of Ohio. Dr. Acton is personally responsible for the unnecessary devastation of the Ohio economy and countless unnecessary deaths caused by her ill-considered orders that closed Ohio schools, closed Ohio businesses, illegally canceled an election, and forced citizens to stay indoors for weeks on end without accounting for the predictable negative results of her actions.
In a heated call between the Governor and Ohio House members Tuesday afternoon, unbelievably the only time the Governor has even talked to House members during this entire crisis, Governor DeWine became defensive and hostile when asked about the data he was using to make decisions by Representative Bill Seitz (R-30). DeWine was clearly upset that anyone would question the decisions he has made based on the advice of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton.
Zawistowski said, "Yesterday, Dr. Acton crossed a line for liberty loving Ohioans when she said, 'In some countries they're looking at certificates to say you're immune and therefore you're able to go about your business. It would be a dream if we were able to get to something like that.' Governor DeWine, NO American and NO Ohioan has a dream that some government bureaucrat could keep them from being able to work or even leave their homes because they have NOT gotten a disease and developed immunity to it. If you, Governor DeWine, do not completely denounce this outrageous statement and fire Dr. Acton immediately, then the Legislature must hold you personally responsible for the damage that is being done."
Zawistowski continued, "It is a matter of fact that Dr. Acton has been wrong on EVERYTHING from the very beginning because she has relied exclusively on politically slanted models that have greatly exaggerated the threat from coronavirus. She was wrong when she said in early March that Ohio had 100,000 cases of the virus without any proof. She was wrong when she advised Governor DeWine to close schools because she predicted a peak of 62,000 cases by mid-March. She was wrong when she said that Ohio would have 10,000 new cases per day in May. She was wrong when she said that the new peak would be in mid-May. Now she is wrong about the need for social distancing and masks for the next six to 18 months. Governor DeWine, you said in this video that the worst mistakes you have made in your political life were in hiring the wrong people. Well sir, hiring Dr. Acton has clearly has been your biggest mistake ever."
Zawistowski said, "By listening to Dr. Acton, Governor DeWine is in fact doing the opposite of what science says we should do today based on real data, and not faulty projections. The facts are that the attempts to 'contain' this disease have failed totally based on the Stanford testing in California that shows 40-85 times more people already have had the coronavirus than the number we see on TV all day. So, continuing to quarantine people makes no sense. The disease has broken the quarantine. So, instead of closing the schools for the rest of the year, Governor DeWine should have ordered the schools to open. Instead of asking citizens to stay in their homes, which has been proven to be a more contagious environment, and closing parks and playgrounds, we should be telling everyone to get outdoors into the sun and fresh air. Clearly Governor DeWine cannot see what is right in front of his face - this entire economic shutdown was a mistake! The Legislature must act now to force the Governor to Open Ohio NOW and prevent a continuation of the economic devastation and loss of life from these misguided actions."
