WTPC Press Release on Oath Keepers Sentencing

Akron, OH: Today, Tom Zawistowski, President of the TEA Party affiliated We the People Convention (WTPC), called for the US House to act in the next budget to totally defund and shut down the corrupt District of Columbia Court System in light of the outrageous 18 year sentence handed down for Oath Keepers' Leader Stuart Rhodes. Rhodes was sentenced by the Obama Appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta following his conviction on trumped up charges of "seditious conspiracy" for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol that amounted to "thought crimes", not real crimes, and the exercise of his free political speech. The sentencing represents the longest prison term assigned to a figure involved in the riot, coming after Rhodes was found guilty on numerous other charges last November, including other legally manipulated felony charges such as "obstruction of an official proceeding" - which is going to be challenged in the Supreme Court.
 
Zawistowski said, "There was a reason that former Senator Harry Reid, in coordination with former President Barack Hussein Obama and Racist Attorney General Eric Holder, invoked the "nuclear option" in the U.S. Senate in 2013. It was to weaponize the D.C. Courts by packing them with partisan judges who would disregard the law and enforce a political agenda against political enemies under the force of law. We are witnessing the gross results of this heinous plan right now and it needs to be stopped. Since there is no way to reform the courts and the prison system in the District of Columbia, the only way to bring justice against those who have corrupted them is to eliminate them. Defund Them. Shut Them ALL Down. Permanently. It is crystal clear that it is "impossible to get a fair trial" in D.C. and that fact violates everything that America stands for as a nation of laws and not men. Every Judge, every person, involved with these corrupt courts deserves the ultimate punishment - elimination of their jobs and careers and to be publicly shamed. Congress created ALL the Courts, with the exception of the Supreme Court, and Congress can eliminate them if they fail to provide unbiased justice to the people."
 
Zawistowski continued, "Don't just take my word for it, Newsweek Magazine studied the sentencing differences between Obama appointed Judges and Trump Appointed Judges in 2021 and found that Obama Judges were three times more likely, 60% vs 20%, to give jail time to January 6th defendants - even those convicted of misdemeanors. Judge Mehta's political bias has been exposed not just by his deference to the politicized DOJ in the January 6th defendants' cases but by his shameful handling of Peter Navarro's Contempt of Congress trial by working with the DOJ to constrain evidence Navarro can use in his defense. No Judge has shown more political bias than D.C. federal District Judge Emmett Sullivan who refused to dismiss the totally BOGUS criminal case against former national security advisor Michael Flynn, who we now know was setup by the corrupt FBI under Jim Comey and Andrew McCabe, even after an appellate court ruled that he dismiss the case. Furthermore, it is impossible to put together a fair jury for conservatives in a jurisdiction in which everyone depends directly or indirectly on the largess of the Federal and Local Government, and 96% of all citizens vote for the Democrats to protect their jobs and government handouts. No defendant who opposes the regime in Washington can get a fair jury as the recents acquittals in the Durham Investigation prove. What percentage of January 6th defendants would have even been convicted, let alone received ANY jail time, if their case could have been moved to be tried in their home districts? Why were they not allowed a change of venue as permissible by law? Because the DOJ and the FBI and the Biden Regime ALL know that the Judges and Jury pool in D.C. are totally biased and unfair. They are not interested in Justice, they wanted political retribution and got it. That is why they should be ELIMINATED by Congress - and all whom they convicted should be pardoned on Day 1 by the next Conservative President."
 
Zawistowski concluded, "The D.C. Courts are a cancer on our Constitution and, like the cancer in the FBI and DOJ, it must be cut out of our body politic and completely destroyed because it is destroying one of our most important American principles - the Rule of Law. America cannot survive as a free nation without the Rule of Law. The elimination of the Rule of Law enables the tyranny we are seeing from the illegitimate Biden Regime and the Communist Left in our Government which controls it. The D.C. Courts are exactly what Obama and Holder designed them to be  - weaponized tools intended to punish any political opposition that threatens their power. The Oath Keepers are not guilty of "seditious conspiracy" but the Obama/Holder/Clinton/Biden/Comey/McCabe/Garland/Wray cabal and their tools in the DOJ/FBI and D.C. Courts are certainly guilty of not just sedition, but treason, as the House Investigations and the Durham Investigation have PROVEN that they executed a coup against a sitting President of the United States which was led by former President Obama. Justice will be brought against them in time but certainly not in the corrupt D.C. Courts."
