Trump Calls Off Iran Strikes: Says Mullahs Seeking Resolution After Feeling the Heat . . .

President Trump announced Monday he is calling off strikes on Iranian power plants for five days, claiming the mullahs in Tehran are now seeking a resolution after feeling the full pressure of his threat.
The President, over the weekend, had given Iran an ultimatum—open the Strait of Hormuz, or he would order the complete obliteration of their power plants within 48 hours. With the deadline ticking down, Trump has given the battered Iranian regime a bit of an extension.
"I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East," he wrote in an all-caps post on Truth Social.
"Based on the tenor and tone of these in-depth, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions," Trump added.

It's unclear whether the productive conversations have included opening the Strait during those five days, the closure of which has created chaos in global energy markets and driven up gas prices noticeably here at home.
Oil prices, however, dropped markedly following the President's announcement - then Rallied this Morning after his announcement of a Pause.
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied that any negotiations are ongoing and has claimed that the President was backing down on his own.
"There are no direct talks between Tehran and Washington," they said, according to Axios. "The U.S. president’s statements are part of efforts to reduce energy prices and buy time to implement his military plans."
Propaganda from any department in Iran must be viewed with extreme skepticism.
Trump, in a phone conversation with CNBC's Joe Kernen, said he had "very intense discussions" with the Iranians, and suggested he's dealing with new leadership that he considers "regime change."
Following his social media post, the President tells AFP that "things are going very well" regarding Iran.
The situation with Iran remains fluid and fast-moving. RedState will keep you posted with every new development.
