Trump: U.S. May Strike Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain Nuclear Site ‘Very Soon’

President Donald Trump warned Friday that the United States may strike Iran’s heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site “very soon,” saying Washington is closely tracking activity at the underground complex and will prevent Tehran from using it to rebuild its nuclear program. “We may hit Pickaxe very soon,” Trump told reporters at the White House. He added: “We know everybody that’s moving at Pickaxe. We know everybody that’s moving everywhere all over Iran. And if anything goes bad, we hit them. We hit them hard.” Trump’s overriding line remains: “Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.”
Pickaxe Mountain, near the devastated Natanz complex, contains two tunnel complexes under Kolang Gaz La mountain; experts assess portions may be more deeply buried than Fordow once was. Israeli intelligence reportedly believes Iran transferred thousands of advanced centrifuges into Pickaxe last fall. Trump told Britain’s GB News Thursday that Space Force and other U.S. surveillance keep cameras on major sites including Pickaxe: “We know everybody that walks in and walks out.” He has spent months warning the mountain will be destroyed if Iran tries to reconstitute enrichment there, previously telling Hugh Hewitt the site could take “a nice, big, fat shot right into the front door.”
Those threats follow Operation Midnight Hammer, the U.S. strike that destroyed Iran’s three principal nuclear facilities at the close of Israel’s June 2025 Rising Lion campaign.
