U.S. government data indicates a significant increase in the migrant population residing within the country, with numbers expected to reach eight million by the end of September — a 167 percent increase over the last five years.
The surge is attributed to the ongoing border crisis that saw over six million asylum seekers and other migrants released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody and listed on the “non-detained docket” by the conclusion of fiscal year 2023 on September 30. Department of Homeland Security documents sent to Congress anticipate a further increase to the aforementioned eight million by October 1.

Among the migrants caught in the backlog limbo, an estimated 2 million people — a quarter of the total number — are either slated for deportation or facing criminal charges, while others are awaiting final decisions on their asylum applications.
In December 2023 alone, over 302,000 migrants attempted illegal entry into the U.S., marking an all-time high for a single month and the first time the number surpassed 300,000.

The Biden regime faces continued criticism for its mishandling of the ongoing border crisis, which some argue the government has intentionally exacerbated. In February, it was revealed that most of the jobs’ gains’ under President Biden were the result of migrant labor.
