We are pleased and honored to announce, Frank LaRose, Ohio Secretary of State, will join us at the 2019 We the People Convention on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Columbus, OH. Secretary LaRose will discuss voter registration, absentee ballot use and how his office intends to make sure every valid vote is counted in 2020 during his Convention address. His staff will be providing quantities of voter registration forms and absentee ballot request forms to Convention attendees to take home with them after the Convention.
The We the People Convention endorsed Frank LaRose in the 2018 election in his run for Ohio Secretary of State and motivated Ohio activists to get out the vote to elect him to this important position that not only oversees election integrity, but will also play an important role in redistricting after the 2020 elections. Despite differing views on some policy issues, Frank LaRose has been a supporter of the TEA Party Movement literally from it's very beginning in Ohio. LaRose spoke at the very first Portage County TEA Party event on July 11, 2009 in Ravenna, OH. LaRose would often show up at 2:00 AM to show support and encourage TEA Party members taking bus trips to the historic rallies in Washington, DC.
Frank LaRose took office as Ohio's 51st Secretary of State on January 14th, 2019. Prior to being elected to statewide office, he served two terms in the State Senate representing the 27th Senate District in northeast Ohio. In his role as Ohio’s chief elections officer, he’s working to ensure Ohio’s elections are accessible, accurate and secure. He is also supporting Ohio entrepreneurs as the sole authority to receive and approve articles of incorporation for Ohio businesses.
In the legislature, LaRose spearheaded efforts to increase government transparency and efficiency, particularly in the areas of elections administration and regulatory reform. LaRose was named the Legislator of the Year in 2016 by the Ohio Association of Election Officials in recognition of his support and commitment to improving Ohio’s election process.
LaRose joins top Ohio Election Attorney Donald Brey; Attorney Eric Lee from Judicial Watch; Catherine Engelbrecht; founder of True the Vote; who will be honored with the "Spirit of Freedom" Award at the convention luncheon; and NRA-ILA Grassroots Coordinator David Conte at the event. Tickets for the September 21, 2019 We the People Convention at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, OH are only $35 per person which includes your lunch.
