FBI agents have seized 700 boxes containing ballots and documents related to the 2020 election from a warehouse in Fulton County, Georgia

WASHINGTON — Federal investigators raided an election office in Fulton County, Ga., Wednesday in a case related to the 2020 vote, a Justice Department official told The Post.
FBI agents are acting on a search warrant, but no more details were immediately available.
Georgia’s most populous county, which includes most of Atlanta, was the focus of Trump’s claims of fraud after losing the state’s 16 Electoral College votes to Democrat Joe Biden, with the official tally showing the Republican trailing by fewer than 12,000 votes.
Trump’s quest to reverse the results contributed to his second impeachment in January 2021 and in 2023 Democratic District Attorney Fani Willis filed criminal charges against Trump and 18 co-defendants.
That case, which forced Trump to appear for a mug shot, and a similar federal prosecution brought by special counsel Jack Smith were dropped after Trump won a second non-consecutive term in 2024.
The specific focus of the FBI raid is unclear.
“Our investigation into this matter is ongoing so there are no details that I can provide at the moment,” a FBI Atlanta spokesperson told the Washington Examiner.
Trump’s many Fulton County fraud claims are well known, though those assertions were dismissed by both courts and the state’s Republican leaders, including Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
In one of the best-known cases, county election officials said on Election Day that they stopped counting absentee ballots for roughly 2 hours after a “pipe burst” in the room where the count was occurring.

Trump claimed that the plumbing issue was a “lie” during in his Jan. 6, 2021, speech to supporters before their storming of the Capitol to disrupt certification of Biden’s Electoral College victory.
“In Fulton County, Republican poll watchers were ejected, in some cases, physically from the room under the false pretense of a pipe burst — ‘water main burst, everybody leave,’ which we now know was a total lie,” Trump said.
“Then election officials pull boxes — Democrats — and suitcases of ballots out from under a table. You all saw it on television, totally fraudulent, and illegally scanned them for nearly two hours, totally unsupervised, tens of thousands of votes,” Trump claimed in that speech. “This act coincided with a mysterious vote dump of up to 100,000 votes for Joe Biden, almost none for Trump.”
Trump blasted the “pathetic governor of Georgia,” Kemp, for rejecting his allegations of fraud and called on supporters to “vote him the hell out of office,” though voters instead re-elected Kemp in 2022.

Trump additionally claimed in his pre-Capitol riot speech that thousands of votes were illegally cast in Georgia and the other swing states that Biden narrowly won, including Arizona and Pennsylvania.
“Even without an audit, the number of fraudulent ballots that we’ve identified across the state is staggering,” Trump claimed.
“Over 10,300 ballots in Georgia were cast by individuals whose names and dates of birth match Georgia residents who died in 2020 and prior to the election. More than 2,500 ballots were cast by individuals whose names and dates of birth match incarcerated felons in Georgia prison,” he alleged.

“More than 4,500 illegal ballots were cast by individuals who do not appear on the state’s own voter rolls. Over 18,000 illegal ballots were cast by individuals who registered to vote using an address listed as vacant according to the Postal Service.
“At least 88,000 ballots in Georgia were cast by people whose registrations were illegally backdated… 66,000 votes in Georgia were cast by individuals under the legal voting age. And at least 15,000 ballots were cast by individuals who moved out of the state prior to the Nov. 3 election.”
Raffensberger, the Republican Georgia secretary of state, denied Trump’s claims, as did the court system.

“We’ve never found systemic fraud, not enough to overturn the election,” he said at the time.
“I wish he would have won. I’m a conservative Republican, and I’m disappointed, but those are the results.”
Two Fulton County election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, sued Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, for defamation for accusing them of committing fraud. The women won a $148 million judgment against the former New York City mayor.
Probable cause was confirmed, a judge issued a warrant, the FBI raided Fulton County Georgia election headquarters and the Democrats have been caught red-handed.
