Trump Administration Now Rooting Out Billions in Waste

We've all been shocked and amazed to see just what the extent is of the various schemes defrauding the American taxpayer. Every federal program, from the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) to Medicare and Medicaid seem to be compromised. Fortunately for us American taxpayers, there are people now rooting out this fraud. 

On Tuesday, fresh off the Memorial Day weekend, the Trump administration issued a press release counting coup on the results of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud. It makes for quite a list.

President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance are unleashing an unrelenting, full-scale assault on the fraudsters, scammers, and corrupt operators who have looted billions from American taxpayers. The White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraudis moving at unprecedented speed and ferocity to root out the waste, abuse, and criminal exploitation of government programs that have drained billions from hardworking taxpayers.

This is a direct offensive against every fraudulent scheme preying on hardworking Americans — and the results are already staggering.

What's staggering is that previous administrations, as well as state and local officials, let things get to this state. The list of busts described in the press release is lengthy, but here are a few of the bigger busts:

• February 25, 2026: The Trump Administration halted nearly $260 million in Medicaid payments to Minnesota over rampant fraud allegations, demanding full cooperation with federal investigators.
• April 3, 2026: Federal prosecutors charged more than a dozen individuals in a $50 million hospice fraud scheme.
• April 7, 2026: The Department of Justice secured a guilty plea from a California fraudster accused of submitting $270 million in false reimbursement claims.
• April 8, 2026: The Task Force uncovered $6.3 billion in suspected fraudulent government contracts and immediately launched a sweeping investigation.
• April 15, 2026: The Trump Administration suspended 447 hospices and 23 home health agencies in Los Angeles, with estimated fraud exceeding $600 million.
• April 24, 2026: The Small Business Administration referred562,000 fraudulent or delinquent pandemic-era loans — totaling $22 billion — for aggressive collection.
• May 13, 2026: The Trump Administration deferred $1.3 billion in federal Medicaid reimbursements for California.
• May 13, 2026: The Trump Administration blocked $60 million in fraudulent student loan applications in just the first month since deploying enhanced screening.

There will doubtless be more.

It staggers belief that there wasn't some indication as to how bad things were before now, and yes, in all candor, we have to look askance at President Trump's first term on this issue as well; although, true, he was dealing with a recalcitrant Democrat House of Representatives in the second half of that term, along with the Impeach-a-Palooza they brought on. But the Biden administration sleepwalked through this, as they did on, well, almost everything. Nothing in the Obama terms, either.

And, yes, the left isn't mentioning how many of these fraud schemes are perpetrated by immigrants, legal and illegal. When you import people in the thousands from low-trust or no-trust societies, we shouldn't be surprised when they act as though they are still in a low-trust society. 

At least it's happening now, and the savings to American taxpayers are in the billions. That's worth doing, and that's for sure and for certain.
